Description:

Navi HUD is a tool that works both as a head-up-display and a navigation aid.Do you look for a simple and cheap navigation tool that is free to use even abroad? Or do you go hiking and prefer a simpler solution than using map and compass? Have you ever looked at a BMW 7 series and thought it would be nice if your 1987 Toyota Corolla also had a head-up-display? Or do you own a bike, and find it unfair that only cars and fighter planes come with head-up-displays?Or maybe you want a simple way to find your way back to the car in large carparks? Or you get lost in new cities and can not find your way back to the hotel? If so, Navi HUD is the tool for youFunctionality:* Speedometer displaying speed in mph or km/h* Compass * G-meter displaying cornering and breaking/acceleration forces.* Orientation arrow showing direction and distance to target (replaces G-meter when destination is set)* Fully configurable, all tools can be individually turned on and off* Camera can be turned off to save battery power.* Full flexibility in defining destination position. Either select current location (to navigate back to the point you started), or enter any position in latitude/longitude format. * Destination is persistently stored and will be reloaded when application is restarted.* Navi HUD supports coordinates in both degree, minute, second and decimal degrees with optional N,S,E,W specification.* Selectable colors for display to ensure good visibility* Easy switch betwen US (miles, feet, mph) and metric (meters, km/h) units for speed and distance. * Stores maximum cornering and acceleration/breaking G forces* Navi HUD does not require internet connection and have no additional cost even when travelling abroad.* Supports iPad and iPhone (both 3.5" and 4" screens)* Note: The tool turns off screen lock, so it must be manually closed to avoid draining the battery when not in use.Examples of supported position formats:* -59 56 58 -10 45 23* 59°56′58″N 10°45′23″E* 40deg 30′ 0\"N 71° 51′ 0"W* 59.8501 S 10.555E* -59.8501 10.555Basically any list of 2 or 6 numbers with optional N,E,S,W specification will be accepted.Positions can of course be found on maps, but Wikipedia for example is a good place to find the position of the destinations you want to go to. Positions can also be found in other navigation tools. Just copy and paste the position into Navi HUD.If you have multiple destinations to visit, a good tip is to create a small note in the Notes app listing the various destinations and copy and paste into Navi HUD as you need them. For example (a little trip around New York city): - Grand Central Terminal: 40°45′10.08″N 73°58′35.48″W - Hayden Planetarium: 40.78148°N 73.97324°W - Empire State Building: 40°44′54.36″N 73°59′08.36″W - World Trade Center: 40°42′42″N 74°00′45″W - Battery Park: 40.703717°N 74.016094°WFor support and more information please refer to http://daeco.no/iosapps/navihud.
